Skype for Windows to Receive Major Update in April

The app will officially get the video messaging option two months from now

Microsoft officially released the video messaging option for Skype yesterday, but this new feature is only available for iOS, Android and Mac platforms, while the Windows client is expected to get it at a later time.

The company confirmed in a statement for that Skype for Windows will get the same feature in approximately two months.

“Video Messaging is in early release for testing in several markets for Android, iOS, and Mac with functionality to send and receive video messages. Users in these markets across all Windows desktop and mobile platforms can receive messages, too. We will have send capability in Windows by end of April. In the meantime, we continue to test this new feature in its early release,” a company spokesperson was quoted as saying.

Video messaging will be implemented not only in the standard Windows client, but also on the Windows 8 version and in Windows RT.
