It integrates possibility to change user icon in Start Menu

StartW8 is rarely updated, the last version bump was back in May; but today its revision number has been changed to 1.2.42.0 and the new build touts full support for the upcoming operating system from Microsoft, Windows 8.1.

The developer announced that the new version of the product complies with the OS’s “boot to desktop” configuration and it can override the default start button delivered with the new Windows.

Additional changes in this build include the availability of an option to customize the graphics for the user icon pinned in the Start Menu panel.

Also, StartW8 (freeware) now integrates a better method for calculating the position of the Start Menu so that it is not displayed improperly on some systems.

The list of changes informs of general bugs being eliminated although there are no specifics available.
