Steve Ballmer has once again been praised for the way he manages the Redmond empire, this time by STEMconnector, a company that rolls out its Top 100 STEM CEOs every year.

Ballmer has been described as an “inspiring business leader,” so Microsoft’s CEO has been included in this year’s rankings, alongside some other high-profile executives from the tech industry.

“Washington state ranks number one in the nation in the concentration of STEM jobs due to inspiring business leaders like Steve Ballmer. The time is now to invest in STEM education and ensure our students have a strong foundation in these fields which are critical to our state’s economic prosperity,” Patrick D’Amelio, CEO of Washington STEM, said.

Steve Ballmer, on the other hand, has been often criticized for the tech giant’s new direction, especially because products such as Windows 8 and the Surface tablets are yet to make a name for themselves on the market.
