Even though many people are criticizing Microsoft for making available just a small number of Surface Pro tablets in order to sell them out quickly, the company says that “demand is high” and that it’s working with partners to bring more units in stores as soon as possible.

The 128 GB flavor is still out of stock almost everywhere across the United States, but the tablet should be again up for grabs by Saturday, according to Panos Panay, the man in charge with the Surface division at Microsoft.

“Demand is high and we’re working as quickly as we can to get Surface Pro in market. If your local retailer does not have stock immediately, they should have it soon,” the Surface team said.

According to Microsoft, 64 GB tablets are being delivered to Microsoft’s partners right now, while the 128 GB version should arrive by the end of this week.
