We're going to wait until other organizations deploy it, they stated

Transport for London (TFL) is one of the organizations that decided to go for Apple products instead of deploying Windows 8, but the reason doesn't make much sense.

Steven Townsend, TFL's chief information officer, told V3 in an interview that his company decided to wait for everybody else to deploy Microsoft's new operating system and only then decide if it's worth it or not.

“Windows 8 is in our sights but it is relatively new. We are not a bleeding-edge test bed for technology and want to see Windows 8 deployed across the industry first so we can learn from mistakes,” he said.

Microsoft would obviously beg to differ, but the tech giant most likely hopes to see Windows 8.1 becoming a much more appealing product for enterprises. The new OS will go live in preview form on June 26 and will feature plenty of improvements aimed at enterprises, along with major UI changes.
