Symantec announced today that some of the registry subkeys for Endpoint Protection 12.1.1100 have been relocated, in order to provide better support for some registry keys that are generally used for client monitoring.

The new location is HKLM\SOFTWARE\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\CurrentVersion\Public-Opstate.

The announcement is especially important for those that run custom scripts that rely on these particular registry entries, as said scripts should be revised if the decision to update to version 12.1.1100 is taken. The list with the subkeys affected, as well as the old and new locations, is available on this page.

The company advises that all registry subkeys and values for Symantec Endpoint Protection should not be modified in any way, and remain read-only, in order to avoid any misbehavior.
