System Essentials has received a new version on Windows 8 today, as the developers behind the app introduced several essential bug fixes and performance improvements.

While the release notes published in the Store don’t provide too many details on this new build, they do mention that optimized and repaired code is part of the new version. In addition, some new languages are also available.

System Essentials is a collection of tools that include apps for getting info about installed software and hardware, but also to access personalization settings and network connections.

“You can also send and receive SMS messages from your device (if the device supports this option.) Integrates with Microsoft Account and allows you to see information about the current user. Center for information about Windows displays basic information about your device,” the official description reads.
