Microsoft is bringing back the Start menu in Windows 10, but it's no secret that some users expected it to be a little different, and instead of the live tiles and the modern approach that Redmond embraced for the new OS, they actually wanted to get a Start menu that looks more like the one in Windows 7.

Obviously, the software giant won't go for the same look as in Windows 7, but those who still don't like the Windows 10 approach can always turn to a third-party app that basically changes the Start menu from the ground up.

Classic Shell is currently one of the most popular third-party Start menu apps for Windows 8, and it has recently received Windows 10 support, so if you want to restore the Windows 7 Start menu, this is your best option.

As you can see in the screenshots below, the Start menu created by Classic Shell looks just like the one in Windows 7, and as a bonus, you also get options to customize the Start button, tweak the visual style, enable or disable the Start screen shortcut, and many others.

Needless to say, Classic Shell is completely free and can use the Windows 10 Start button, which means that you'll basically feel no difference when it comes to the integration in the operating system.

Everyone can already try the app on Windows 10, so go ahead and download Classic Shell to see what it's up to on the latest version of Windows.
