GIMP remains one of the most powerful cross-platform image editors out there but, unfortunately, there’s no Windows 8 version that could run in the Modern UI.

On the other hand, Windows 8 adopters can download the so-called “The GIMP Training,” a helpful app that packs tutorials and other learning resources for this photo editor.

The program bundles a total of 30 different tutorials and 2 hours of training, as well as support for the Windows 8 snap view. It works on all Windows 8 builds, including x86, x64 and ARM, so it’s completely optimized for the touch.

The program isn’t available with a freeware license, but with a $4.49 (€3.45) price tag and, given the fact that it comes with so many great resources, it could be quite a smart investment.
