Microsoft’s Windows 8 games are recording a terrific success right now on Windows 8, as many of them are offered with a free license or at least with a trial to play a limited number of levels.

The Gunstringer has grown so much in popularity lately that it’s now number one in the top free rankings, ahead of Microsoft’s Solitaire Collection and Pac Pac Man.

Zombie HQ, Jetpack Joyride, and Cut the Rope come next, according to the latest statistics published in the Windows Store.

Microsoft has promised to bring more high-quality apps in the Store and asked developers to release trial versions of the software in an attempt to monetize every high-quality Metro tool.

The Windows Store has also received a major refresh in Windows 8.1, so Microsoft is really keen on making these apps much more appealing for all users.
