Amazon’s very own Kindle tool for Windows 8 has been updated with in-app store access, thus allowing users to purchase books and magazines without leaving the application.

The company has confirmed via the official changelog that the updated software comes with in-app purchases, but the store is only available in English for customers with an Amazon.com account.

“This release includes an in-app store for touch optimized devices along with improvements to the reading and library experiences,” the changelog reads.

The app remains available on all Windows 8 platforms, including x86, x64 and ARM devices, and comes with a long list of features, such as synchronization support for all gadgets running the Kindle tool.

Of course, it’s available for free, but you’ll have to pay for the books you wish to purchase.
