While some statistics show that Windows XP users are slowly but surely moving to another platform, figures provided by StatCounter for the Chinese market prove otherwise.

A new set of data for 2013 reveals that Windows 7 and Windows XP are clearly the most popular operating systems in the country, while both Windows 8 and Linux are only powering a tiny percentage of computers.

To be more specific, Windows XP has a 57.56 market share in China, followed by Windows 7 with 37.22 percent. While it’s a bit surprising to see that Windows XP is still holding the leading spot, it’s also a bit shocking to find out that Windows 8, which by the way is the third OS on the list, has a share of only 2.02 percent.

Linux is way, way behind with 0.35 percent, while Windows Vista, which is often described as Microsoft’s biggest flop in history, is a bit more popular with 0.72 percent.
