New concept imagines a completely redesigned UI for Windows 9

Windows 8.1 is here, but users are already thinking about Windows 9, the next full version of Microsoft’s operating system that’s scheduled to go live sometime in 2014 or 2015.

This concept created by Miguel Cruz (click the image above to see it in full) comes with a completely new flat design for both the desktop and the Metro UI, bringing an overhauled appearance that would really fit Microsoft’s new modern concept.

As you can see, all lock screen elements are bigger now, while the desktop features a new taskbar with a redesigned Start button and icons that look flatter and even more appealing.

The Start screen has been redesigned as well and comes with new tiles that seem to better fit the design style, as well as with access to libraries and a search box that can be easily launched with just a tap.
