Windows 8.1 Preview will be launched in just a few hours, but users who can’t wait a little longer can download the testing version of Windows Server 2012 R2 to have a look at features to be offered in the next OS.

As you can see in this screenshot, the server software packs many of the options that will be included in Windows 8.1, including the well-known Start button that’s set to make its comeback in today’s release.

The build that’s going to be launched earlier today is reportedly labeled as 9341, with the operating system to be offered as either a Windows Store update or as a stand-alone ISO.

The latter option is specifically aimed at users who wish to create a dual-boot configuration, as it would allow them to deploy the operating system on a separate platform and use Windows 8.1 as a stand-alone operating system.
