Microsoft corrected the transparency bug today

Windows 10 build 10041 launched last week with several new features, but also with a handful of bugs that affected a number of built-in tools, including the brand new Start screen.

In Windows 10, the Start menu expands in a Start screen, but whenever you did that in the original build 10041, transparency level was messed up and you were able to see through the screen right on the desktop. As a result, if you had any open windows on the desktop, you were able to see them despite the fact the Start screen was launched.

This issue was fixed with an update earlier today, when Microsoft pushed Windows 10 build 10041 to slow ring users, and the transparency level also seems to have received a number of adjustments, which means that it now looks a bit more appropriate on both PCs and tablets.

Both the Start menu and the Start screen are under development right now, so other features and options could still be added before Windows 10 comes out in final form, but overall, this is what the two are very likely to look like when the new OS is ready.

Microsoft might also be adding some new transition and opening/closing effects to make everything look and feel fresh, and these tweaks could be released to users at some point in the future as part of a technical preview build.
