It is really a beta release, some features might not work

Many expected this build a lot sooner, considering that the stable version of Mozilla’s email client rolled out a little over a week ago. The new build introduces some new features but its changelist also shows a plethora of bug fixes.

Feature-wise, Mozilla Thunderbird 9.0 Beta sports an opt-in system for users to send performance evaluation notes about the program. There is also better keyboard handling for attachments and Windows users should be able to hide the menu bar when pressing Alt key.

Mind that this is a beta build and its development is in full progress at the moment; so some of the features might not work correctly. For instance, we did not see the menu bar hide when pressing Alt key and also had plenty of trouble closing the application.
