The development of Total Commander 8.50 continues with the recent release of a new beta build, which, apart from delivering refinements regarding functionality and stability, introduces new elements.

Beta six of the file manager increases compatibility for HTTP downloads by adding ability to work with servers that return incorrect headers, such as zero content length but valid content range.

Also new is support for unpacking multi-volume 7Zip archives; these are regular compressed packages split into more than one sections. The prerequisite for achieving this is to have all the parts in the same folder.

The developer worked on improving the F5 copy dialog by displaying an exclamation mark next to “Verify” button in case of lack of reciprocity with the general settings for the Copy/Delete function.

The uninstaller has been updated so that it now uses the latest code signing certificate.

On the same note, if errors are recorded during the F5 copy task, the log includes checked size, SRC and MD5 value for debugging.

A large list of fixes is also available and they touch on various functions and components, such as deleting, watching directories for changes, the standalone search window, file copying, compare-by-content or checksum creation.
