The recent advancements made in developing Total Commander 8.50 have led to the release of beta 8 of the product. It integrates mostly fixes, but there is also one small modification available.

The list of repairs touches on various components of the file manager, from the search function or file copying, to directory synchronization or the built-in FTP client.

The developer set the maximum search length to 2,046 characters when looking for regular expressions and also solved the problem with failure to copy data from a virtual folder of a camera or smartphone under certain circumstances.

Sometimes, using Ctrl+F on FTP connections would not display names in an external icon library and Windows Classic theme would be used.

Another fix refers to the impossibility to open 7Zip archives that have characters from another codepage in the path or filename.

The list of changes for this release contains mostly repairs for issues that would generally affect a relatively small pool of users, so an RC version might hit the web pretty soon.
