It deals with minor glitches, is in straight line towards stable release

Total Commander is in a straight line towards a stable 8.50, as the developer rolled out the first release candidate for this version.

Although the set of repairs it incorporates is still quite hefty, it is much smaller than for the last beta and shows that the file manager is on its way to leave testing stage.

Among the fixes included is the increased FTP reply timeout, from 20 to 30 seconds while connecting, and the display of the incorrect file masks in the case of the Multi-Rename tool. Additionally, when handled from a remote machine, Total Commander would crash upon resizing its interface.

Another glitch addressed by the developer refers to opening archives in virtual folders like the Desktop, using the Ctrl+PageDown shortcut.

Most of the issues eliminated in this revision are minor but still constituted loose ends that had to be trimmed off before the first stable release.
