Users who want to stick to the Modern UI of Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 do not have many options when it comes to a powerful browser, pretty much because Internet Explorer is the only powerful tool that works in the Metro interface.

Security company Trend Micro has created its very own browser called SafeSurfing that’s supposed to keep users fully secure when loading websites in the Modern UI.

“Integrated web threat protection, search results ratings, web mail rating, social networking protection and Facebook privacy scanning provides the safety you need online while a refreshing new user experience makes using your new Windows 8 tablet more enjoyable,” the app description reads.

Trend Micro SafeSurfing works on all Windows 8 versions on the market, so you can install it on both desktops and tablets. The application is free of charge, so download Trend Micro SafeSurfing for Windows 8.1 right now to see what it’s up to.
