A new version for the open source defragmenter, UltraDefrag is available for download. The new release deals with functional issues but also introduces a PDF version of the documentation, which has been enriched in the GUI section, as a separate download.

Improvements in UltraDefrag 5.0.2 include better representation of disk clusters on the cluster map, the registry is now consulted for the number of installed keyboards, in order to guarantee the detection of all installed keyboards.

On the same note, now the current installer forces the default action for files of LUAR type to be “view.”

Reports of bug fixing are scanty in this release. In fact, one small problem that has been taken care of is a small bug in MFT Zone redraw.

UltraDefrag is a free solution for defragmenting your hard disks. It comes in three flavors, for 32-bit and 64-bit platforms (both Intel and AMD CPUs) and a separate edition for Itanium processors.
