Another build for the open-source defragmenter UltraDefrag has been released today, bringing the application to version 5.0.3. The new revision introduces only one new feature and takes care of a handful of issues, the GUI cluster map drawing routine being one of them.

The latest release of the application should be able to generate text reports only when they are enabled explicitly by the user. Also, optional menu icons were added for Vista and more recent Windows editions; these can be enabled by changing the value for “show_menu_icons” to “1” in the GUI option.

More important issues have also been dealt with, such as those affecting the disk optimization algorithm. On the same note, the current build comes with support for environment variables expansion to the boot time shell.

Full report of the changes is available here. You can download UltraDefrag from this page.
