No new features available, replaces GUI framework with wxWidgets

As promised, the developer replaced the home-brew GUI framework in UltraDefrag 7.0 with wxWidgets.

This move should allow the developer to focus on the defragmentation engine and improve the application by implementing long-requested features. However, the change comes with a downside: UltraDefrag 7.0 does not work on Windows 2000 and lower.

Despite the fact that it is a major release, UltraDefrag 7.0 has been rolled out for the simple purpose of testing the migration of the GUI code. As such, there are no fresh features present.

At the moment the developer has not optimized the executable files for size but announces that this operation will be completed before releasing the stable build for UltraDefrag 7.0.

UltraDefrag is a free disk defragmentation utility. You can get it from this page; it is also available as a portable download.
