VMWare Workstation 10 is one of the latest software solutions that add Windows 8.1 support, thus allowing users to create a virtual machine running Microsoft’s latest OS update.

“Unity mode has been enhanced to seamlessly work with Windows 8.1 UI changes. Workstation 10 can now convert a Windows 8.1 physical PC to a virtual machine,” VMWare said in a statement.

Version 10 also brings support for some new technologies, including virtual tablet sensors, which basically allows the app to create virtual machines that could use accelerometers, gyroscopes, light sensors, and compasses.

What’s more, the app now supports 16 vCPUs, 8 TB SATA disks and 64GB of RAM, a virtual SATA disk controller 20 virtual networks, and USB 3.0, while also making it easier to set up multi-monitor configurations.
