Paint hasn’t tried on the new Viber for Windows 8.1 app yet, but it’s already one the most popular Metro tools available for download for adopters of Microsoft’s new operating system.

Viber has climbed on the fourth spot in the top free app category in the Windows Store, just below Facebook, Netflix, and Google Search, as all three are in the top of the most downloaded apps since the debut of Windows 8.1.

Viber is an application that allows users to talk to friends and family straight from the Modern UI, using simply an Internet connection.

Pretty much a rival for Skype, Viber is offered free of charge on both desktops and tablets, offering an interface that’s completely optimized for the touch. Of course, Viber is a Windows 8.1-exclusive app, so you’ll have to update to this OS version before installing it.
