Microsoft introduced the Surface Pro 3 yesterday and the device is now up for pre-order, but in order to make everyone aware that a new tablet is available, the company also published a video showcasing its key capabilities.

The Surface Pro 3 comes with a 12-inch screen and a full HD display which Microsoft claims is pixel-free and provides outstanding video quality.

The tablet runs Windows 8.1 Pro, so it supports full desktop applications, just like a traditional laptop. That's actually the purpose of the Surface Pro 3, Microsoft said, as the company wants the new tablet to actually serve as a full-time replacement for the traditional laptop.

At the same time, the Surface Pro 3 is also offering superior processing power, as the top of the range model comes with an Intel Core i7 chip that provides excellent performance that could come in handy especially when working with apps such as Photoshop.

And speaking of apps, Microsoft guarantees that some powerful apps will soon be updated to work better on the Surface Pro 3, including Adobe's CC suite which has already received some improvements to bring full touch support on the newly-introduced tablet.

Overall, the Surface Pro 3 has the potential to become a really great tablet, so watch the video below and let us know what you think in the comment box after the jump.
