A new beta version of WinRAR is now available for download, packing improvements and bug fixes for some of the issues reported by users in the previous releases.

WinRAR 5.0 beta 7 was specifically designed to address found problems, including those affecting file extraction from ACE archives. “WinRAR could create empty folders contained in such archive in a wrong destination folder,” the developers explained.

At the same time, it “did not create the folder structure necessary to store unpacked hard links,” they added, so the new build packs fixes for all these issues.

As far as Windows is concerned, the new beta is supposed to work flawlessly on all versions of Microsoft’s operating system. However, keep in mind that it’s still a testing version, so more bugs and issues could be spotted.
