The recently released update for WinSCP client for SFTP and FTP file transfers is just a small hotfix that incorporates some bug fixes and enhancements that are already part of the beta releases (5.2.3 and 5.2.4).
The list of modifications for the WinScp 5.1.7 stable of the application brings to the table upgraded PuTTYgen and Pageant components.
The fresh revision does away with a glitch affecting SSH security in Putty 0.63. On the same note, the developer eliminated some memory leaks.
Users should no longer have trouble with the search path not being able to exceed the system limit of 2048 characters.
Furthermore, when a local file is not overwritten because of enforced permissions, the application will no longer display the message “The system cannot find the file specified” instead of the cause leading to said failure to complete the action.
Another issue solved in this revision refers to failure to display an error and to close the session when a variable containing command return code fails with SCP protocol.
