A new version has just been released for WinSCP. The program reached version 5.1, which is the first stable build for the 5.x branch. The new revision brings to the table a small set of modifications.

First on the list is support for Unicode/UTF8. Starting this revision the developer added the possibility to switch between the sessions by using a tab selector function. Also new in this release is support for Windows 7’s taskbar jump list feature.

Furthermore, this edition of the application shows support for MLSD/MLST FTP commands and the .NET assembly is built around WinScp scripting interface.

WinSCP is an open-source project. It is a free client for transferring files between a local and a remote machine via SFTP, SCP, FTPS and FTP, on Windows. It is also available as a portable download.
