Designer improves the desktop in Windows 10 with own ideas

Microsoft indeed improved the desktop in Windows 10 with some subtle visual tweaks, but some users expected more drastic changes in the way the operating system looks as compared to its predecessors.

Since the Technical Preview brings quite a limited modification in this regard, DeviantArt user link6155 decided to add his very own personal touch to the desktop and improve its appearance with some options that could come in handy to more users out there.

As you can see for yourselves by clicking on the adjacent photo, the imagined Windows 10 desktop, which includes the windowed Metro apps that are part of the Technical Preview, now comes with colorful title bars and what the designer calls a “universal menu button” in the top left corner.

This way, each app has its own color, making it easier for users to know which program is which and speed up working with Modern tools on the desktop.

There's no doubt that some could find all these changes unproductive, as the desktop must remain as plain and simple as possible, but for users hoping to get a bit more customization options, such an approach might actually make sense.

Keep in mind, however, that this is just a concept and Microsoft is very unlikely to implement these changes in Windows 10 unless it gets feedback from enough users in this regard.
