Windows 10 for phones is set to arrive in preview form these days, but Microsoft is really keen on keeping all details secret for now, so it's hard to predict when exactly this new OS will be released for users.

In the meantime, the company keeps working on the preview, so it has recently been spotted online trying out the new browser that could be offered with the operating system.

A post on reddit (via WMPU) reveals the user agent that could be included in Windows 10 for phones' default browser, which is now marketed as Android 4.2.1 and using Edge 12.0.

Windows Phone is set to arrive with a completely new browser called Spartan, which will also be available on the desktop and which is going to use the new Edge rendering engine on both platforms.

In the first preview build, however, Microsoft is expected to keep Internet Explorer as the only browsing option, so Spartan will only arrive at a later time for insiders. Joe Belfiore said during the January 21 Windows 10 event that Spartan could be released sometime in the next “three, four, or five months,” as work on this project continues.

In the meantime, everyone hoping to get Windows 10 for phones as soon as possible should keep their fingers crossed, as the company is believed to roll out the new OS in stages to select users.
