Microsoft is set to release the RTM version of Windows 8.1 next month, so the company continues work on the final build of the operating system.

A new screenshot that reached the web this weekend reveals that the Softies recently completed the development of Windows 8.1 build 9461, which is another sign that we’re getting closer to the public launch of the RTM flavor.

Just like WinBeta notes, this new version most likely packs bug fixes and patches addressing some of the problems reported by users in the previous builds and in the Preview, so no major changes are expected to be announced.

Sources familiar with the matter hinted that end users could get the stable version of Windows 8.1 soon after it hits RTM in August, so expect the new OS to be here in less than a couple of months.
