Users are now reporting problems with the Windows 8.1 downloading process

Windows 8.1 was officially released on Thursday, but it turns out that some users are still unable to download the update from the Windows Store.

According to several reports posted on Microsoft’s Community forums, in some cases the Windows 8.1 downloading process doesn’t get past 50 percent.

Here’s what one of the affected users is writing:

“The progress bar gets to about 3/5 full with ‘Downloading’ displayed it then very quickly changes to Installing and then ‘Preparing’ your computer before flipping back to ‘Downloading’ with the progress bar being reset to the beginning. I've left it overnight to no avail.”

At this point, no workaround seems to be available, with Microsoft most likely investigating the issue as we speak. If you’re experiencing the same problem and already found a fix, make sure you drop us a line in the comment box below.
