The first Windows 8.1 / Blue leak that reached the web approximately one month ago revealed that Microsoft was working on a new Metro app, but no details have been provided so far.

According to a new set of leaked pictures, the new app, codenamed Movie Moments, might very well serve as a Metro flavor of the classic Movie Maker app already available in previous Windows versions.

Still, the Windows 8.1-based Movie Moments will comprise three major features to cut clips, add captions and automatically apply other effects.

As you can see in this picture, the “Trim it” option would basically allow users to cut clips to 60 seconds or less, while the “Say it” tool is supposed to help them add captions.

The “Share it” feature, on the other hand, seems to be the ace up its sleeve, as it could provide automatic editing options, such as effects and filters.

More details on the Movie Moments Metro app are expected to be provided in the coming months, ahead of the public debut of the first beta projected to see daylight in June.
