The Start screen could be used to keep track of launched apps

The Start screen is going to be significantly updated in Windows 8.1, but a concept that reached the web not a long time ago envisions some of the improvements that could be made to this particular feature.

DeviantArt user TheTechnoToast created what he calls a Windows 8.1 Start screen concept based on three new features, namely OS Switching, WinSync, and SmartRun.

First of all OS Switching would allow users to quickly reboot and load a different operating system, in case they’re running a multi-boot configuration, while WinSync would take care of data synchronization between multiple Windows devices, such as smartphones, tablets, and PCs.

Last but not least, SmartRun would place a thin white band around running apps and a green one for security software.
