Windows 8.1 comes with a brand new SkyDrive application that allows users to manage both online and offline files with minimum effort.

According to Microsoft, SkyDrive integration in Windows 8.1 is enjoying a terrific success, as during the first week after BUILD, the company recorded over 3TB of data uploaded to SkyDrive every day.

“We’re excited to see that people are getting access to their huge collections of files while only taking up local storage that’s less than 5% of their total file size. We’ve also gotten feedback on what else you’d like to see in the product, and we’re working hard to address that feedback in the upcoming milestones,” Mona Akmal, group program manager, SkyDrive apps, said.

Windows 8.1 is set to hit RTM as soon as next month, while end users are expected to get the final version of the operating system before the holiday season.
