A brand new concept imagines a slightly redesigned look of Windows 8

It’s not a secret anymore that Microsoft will bring back the Start button in Windows 8.1, so all eyes are on the BUILD developer conference that’s going to host the launch of the Preview version.

In the meantime, however, DeviantArt user tmpcox has created a simple concept that packs not only the upcoming Windows 8.1 Start button, but also a slightly redesigned UI for the built-in desktop apps.

As you can see, File Explorer comes with a polished look that relies on flat icons and minor tweaks here and there, even though it’s pretty much based on the actual design released by Microsoft.

The Start button is, of course, created with the help of a third-party application, but it looks pretty much like the one to be included in the public beta of Windows 8.1. As always, share your thoughts on this design using the comment box below.
