Bing’s search suggestions aren’t quite helpful for Microsoft’s new OS

Microsoft admitted last week that Bing has only minor chances to become a verb, just like it happened with the term “Google,” but it emphasized once again that Bing's search results are better than Google's.

Well, now we're only a few weeks away from the official debut of the new Windows operating system, but performing a search on Bing with “Windows 8” as a keyword isn't quite... uhm... let's say encouraging if you're a new user.

Typing “Windows 8 is” in the Bing search box brings up a bunch of unfortunate suggestions, such as slow, ugly, a mess, a disaster and confusing.

Of course, this doesn't have much to do with the performance of the new OS, but the results are actually based on webpages indexed by Microsoft's search engine. In plain English, these are actually some phrases published out there on the Internet and Bing considers that they somehow match the “Windows 8” query.

Truth is, the first suggestion is “Windows 8 is awesome,” so let's just stick to this one until October 26.
