Demand for Windows 8 products remains low, the company explains

Statistics provided by market researchers around the world indicate that Windows 8 adoption is growing, PC manufacturers actually explain otherwise.

HP, for example, says that Windows 8’s uptake isn’t so impressive for the time being, but the company will continue to bet big on products running this particular operating system.

“We haven’t seen a strong demand for Windows 8 products broadly,” Todd Bradley, EVP of HP’s printing and personal systems group, told IT Pro in a statement.

HP has completely abandoned Windows XP, so all its new products are no longer capable of running this particular operating system.

Instead, it will focus on Windows 7 and Windows 8 exclusively, so it hopes Microsoft’s latest flagship platform to take off by the end of the year. And still, that’s not going to happen, some other researchers think.
