A new flavor of the Windows Azure Libraries for Java has been released to enable developers to access the Windows Azure service from their client-side Java code.

Delivered as version 0.2.2 Feb12 CTP, the new iteration of these libraries weighs only 3.2 MB and can be downloaded via the link below.

The Windows Azure SDK for Java offers support for Linux, Mac OS X, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2 and Java 1.6+.

Through the client libraries included in this package, Java developers will be able to easily come up with applications that can take advantage of Windows Azure or leverage Windows Azure services, such as Windows Azure Storage or Service Bus.

For specific info on Windows Azure and the Windows Azure SDK for Java, developers can head over to the Windows Azure Java Developer Center.
