The company is reportedly preparing a File Manager app for Blue users

Windows 8 comes with more or less useful built-in Modern apps, but the operating system still lacks a full-featured file manager that would put users in control of their locally-stored documents.

Windows Blue is very likely to change this, as a picture posted on Twitter by Windows4Live shows what seems to be a Metro-based File Manager supposed to be implemented into the first major Windows 8 refresh.

While Microsoft is yet to confirm this, bringing a file manager in Windows Blue pretty much makes sense, especially given the fact that so many users have requested it.

At this time, there are several file managers available in the Store, some of which are even offered with a shareware license, but a dedicated solution created by Microsoft would clearly be a lot more helpful, especially on Windows RT tablets.

More information on the leaked Windows Blue build is available here, while a video showing the new OS in action can be found here.
