Windows Firewall Control received a new update over the weekend. The fresh version is 3.9.0.1 and it features a rather small batch of repairs.

The first fix on the list addresses the problem with the F5 message not being displayed or hidden properly under the “Manage Rules” panel.

Some dependencies that were not required have been removed and after installing the application, the global hotkeys are no longer defined. The default configuration allows the user to define them.

A more serious issue addressed in this revision refers to a crash when exiting the application if no global hotkey has been set by the user.

Windows Firewall Control is not a firewall per se. It is a utility that extends the functionality of the default firewall in Windows by allowing quick access to frequently used options.
