Windows Firewall Control has recently received an update to version 3.9.1.0. This release adds a new tab in the “Advanced options” panel as well as various improvements and fixes.

The newly included tab is designed to allow the user to pick the location a freshly created rule applies to. The options are Domain, Private, Public or any other combination of these three.

As far as enhancements are concerned, the developer reduced the assembly size by 10% as a result of removing obsolete resources. Users should notice an improvement in speed, due to various code optimizations and that the Profiles column from Manage Rules window has been renamed to Location in order to eliminate confusions with the profiles used in the Profiles tab of the application.

An important fix available in this revision refers to a crash that occurred when the program loaded and the system drive was not C:/. This was triggered by accessing Manage Rules window.
