The January 21 event focused on the consumer experience in Windows 10 is very likely to bring us news that is concerning more than just the desktop platform, and now, rumor has it that the company is also getting ready to present the new Windows Phone 10.

The big news this time isn’t necessarily the unveiling of Windows Phone 10, because everyone knows that Microsoft has already started work on such a project, but the name that Microsoft is going to use for this particular project.

There are some voices out there claiming that Redmond could in the end go for a name that would make much more sense for its lineup, so instead of calling it “Windows Phone,” the company might actually launch the new OS as just “Windows.”

While this could only cause more confusion among users, it turns out that there’s also a backup plan that could bring us a totally new name for the mobile platform.

Windows Mobile could be the designation that Microsoft might come down to in order to make sure that its new project is a lot more successful, but this obviously depends on many more factors than just a name.

As for the final version of the mobile operating system, sources claim that it could arrive together with Windows 10 in late summer or early fall 2015, but again, it all depends on how well development work advances throughout the year.
