Microsoft will soon launch Windows 8.1, the first important update for the current flagship operating system of the company, but the tech giant is also working on some major improvements for other solutions in its product range.

Windows RT will also get a makeover this summer, but no specifics are available for the time being, so nobody knows for sure whether Microsoft plans to bring the same enhancements as for the desktop version of Windows 8.1.

A tweet posted by Windows4Live confirms the Windows RT 8.1 designation, which will most likely be an updated version of the tablet-oriented operating system also projected to hit shelves this year.

As always, the Softies are keeping everything secret on the Blue project, but more information is expected to be provided in the coming months as we get closer to the BUILD developer conference.
