Microsoft continues its struggle to discontinue Windows XP and move everyone to a newer operating system, but not everyone seems to be listening to Redmond’s desperate messages.

One of the problems for companies that are planning to move from Windows XP is the app compatibility with some other operating systems, but according to Microsoft, that shouldn’t be a problem if their next destination is Windows 7.

A Microsoft spokesperson confirmed for ZDNet that Windows XP Mode, which is available on Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, and Ultimate, will continue to be offered.

Still, without patches and security fixes, computers running in this mode could easily become vulnerable, so Microsoft is again recommending users who are still needing Windows XP to migrate their entire business to a newer operating system as soon as possible.
