That is concerning, he points out, as an unpatched system is vulnerable to attacks

Windows XP support will end on April 8, 2014 and despite Microsoft’s efforts to move everyone to a newer platform, not all users are willing to do it.

The problem with Windows XP is, a Microsoft partner claims, the fact that not everyone is aware that end of support is coming, so many businesses are actually delaying the switch to a newer platform.

“A lot of businesses are simply unaware of the changes that are coming into effect and that, to us, is concerning,” Luke Pykett, marketing manager of Genesis Business Systems, a Microsoft partner in Goulton Street , said according to Hull Daily Mail.

“We are getting more and more people coming to us and asking for our support to help make the migration across to newer systems, as there are a lot of businesses still using XP. Because the support and security updates from Microsoft cease, businesses that are operating using XP will be at serious risk after April 8.”

Windows XP is currently holding a 29 percent market share, so chances are that the migration to a newer platform won’t be completed in time, which means that many systems running Windows XP will still be there after April 8.
