User makes Windows 10 even more visually appealing

Windows 10 does come with a number of visual improvements, including new icons and animations when opening windows, but that's not enough for some users, so it's no surprise that some turn to third-party apps to improve the desktop of the new OS.

The screenshot you see here shows a modified version of Windows 10 belonging to German Windows insider Dave2399, who spent some time to change the looks of the desktop in a way that makes the operating system as a whole more modern and fresh.

In addition to new icons, which are indeed replacing the flat ones that were implemented by Microsoft in build 9926, Dave also placed a big flat clock widget on the desktop with the help of Xwidget.

If you're looking to get the same look on your desktop as well, go ahead and download Xwidget, the wallpaper, and the clock widget, while the icons can be replaced with pretty much any pack you find online.

In case you haven't heard, the new icons that are part of build 9926 are heavily criticized by testers and many described them as ugly, childish, outdated, or “a bad joke,” so such tweaks definitely come in handy to those who hope to refresh their desktops without Microsoft's help.

And yet, don't forget that Windows 10 is still in development, so those new ugly icons could be removed before the OS gets the go-ahead for the market.
