Extreme tweaks change XP's look completely

Windows XP is no longer alive, as Microsoft officially pulled the plug on this particular operating system in April this year, but nearly 17 percent of the world's desktop computers are still running it.

Needless to say, quite a lot of consumers are also using it on a regular basis, so UI customizations are obviously a thing that most users try in order to escape the boredom of such an old operating system.

What we have here is a standard Windows XP desktop featuring extreme tweaks that completely change the face of the ancient platform, making it a lot more appealing and bringing tools that are only available in modern operating systems, including a dock and widgets.

These customizations were made by DeviantArt user Speedz0r and obviously required some efforts, but the result is absolutely amazing.

According to the official description of the result, the following apps have all been used to make Windows XP look just like this: XWindows Dock, Rainmeter, AveDesk 1.3, Rainmeter skins (Kantas by rabra, Elegant Clock by twistlemon, Simplesentencethree by White-Baron, Simple Weather v1 by allendurakovic, and Minimal Typography by lysy1993lbn), new dock and desktop icons, and a special Windows XP skin.

Obviously, everyone can make their Windows XP desktops look just like this or even better, but this doesn't mean that your OS version is more secure than before. In other words, just update already and avoid getting hacks without any other tweaks.
