A new Lumia passes certification, this time in Indonesia

Microsoft is hard at work to expand the Lumia series of phones and we've already seen some of the models that could be introduced in the coming months. And yet, there's one more Windows Phone device which has only now been spotted online.

Codenamed RM-1099, the new Lumia has been spotted by NPU in Indonesia, which is another indication that Microsoft is looking at developing markets with this new model.

Obviously, details are completely unknown right now and it's really hard to anticipate whether this is going to be another budget model or a high-end version, but since it has already passed certification, the new device should launch in the coming months.

And yet, it's believed that it won't be one of the eagerly awaited flagships, such as Lumia 940, because it will most likely run Windows Phone 8.1, given its release date. On the other hand, it could be a mid-budget model supposed to help Microsoft boost its market share across the world.

The official unveiling of the new device is also expected to take place at MWC 2015 in March, alongside other Lumia models, all running Windows Phone 8.1.

Sources say that new flagships running Windows Phone 10 aren't likely to hit the market before the fall of 2015, so we have to stick to the existing models for the moment. Windows Phone 10 plans are expected to be detailed on Wednesday, but no new phones are said to be on the table for a January 21 unveiling.
